There may be some ugly HTML in there but the colors should be getting inherited from the style as normal. Your Otaku Hub Light style looks fine but not the other two.

That's what I thought it did too. It seems the other styles work fine but not this one.

Mine too, on a couple skins all is fine, on the Animate skin, this:

Some styles do some crazy things with the standard color variables. This is what causes this. Try tweaking the color properties of the style to get the affect you want.

How?
Use Chrome (inspect element) or Firefox's (firebug) to find the color variable you want to change and then change it. Erik did a very nice write-up on how to accomplish this very easily here: How to change almost anything quickly and easily...
