The Coast Convention Center in Biloxi will become the domain of space travelers, steampunks and superheroes with CoastCon 38, set to run March 20 to 22.
Hours are noon to 1 a.m. March 20; 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. March 21; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 22.
Admission is payable at the door only. Rates are $25 per day Friday and Sunday, $35 on Saturday, or $45 for all weekend. Weekend rates are $20 for ages 8 to 14 and $35 for military.
For sci-fi and fantasy fans, CoastCon brings the world of make-believe off the pages of comics and novels and places the characters and lore on the forefront of life, at least for one weekend.
This year's media guests are Aaron Douglas and Tony Amendola. Douglas played Chief Galen Tyrol on the series "Battlestar Galactica." He also played Frank Leo in the television drama "The Bridge" and has a role in the upcoming A&E series "The Returned." Amendola is known to sci-fi and fantasy fans for his television roles in "Stargate SG-1," "Continuum" and "Once Upon a Time."
Fans of anime guest of honor Tiffany Grant know her voice from more than 1,200 television episodes, anime videos and movies. She provided voices for "Azumanga Daioh" and "Golden Boy," to name a few.
The gaming guest of honor will be Kenneth Hite. He began writing video games in 1981 and his early design work includes the Nephilim role-playing game.
Author guests of honor are Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. Under the joint pseudonym James S.A. Corey, they were nominated for a 2012 Hugo Award in 2012 for "Leviathan Awakes."
Cosplay guests are Destine Magique Cosplay & Awkward Cosplay Girl.
