Random thoughts.... post yours!

There are times I look at our dog making a complete mess while eating a bone and ask him "Where did you learn to eat like that?!" only to remember that he came into our family when he was just 8 weeks old so in his little fuzzy brain I imagine his answer being "From you, Dad, OK, I learned it from watching you!". :X3:

And the drinking from the toilet bowl ?

The 2 egg omelette is the correct amount, a universal truth ... add baby spinach leaves and cheese ... and a couple of shots of vodka while cooking.

Hi all,

I'm trying to get a film off the ground called the Seraphim Heresy that is inspired by the accounts of Betty and Barney Hill but with a Sci-Fi Horror/ Alien meets Close encounters vibe. I'm going to enter the finished film into the Cannes film festival but i'm having a really hard time trying to find people in New Zealand who even know who Betty and Barney Hill are.

Please check out the link below and let me know what you think?

The Seraphim Heresy - Cannes Short Film Entry

Feel free to contact me if your interested in knowing more or might be able to help.

Well, my snow/vacation day was a bust. :banghead:

The weather forecast for yesterday had us pegged for at least 4-8" of snow and on the border of the zone that should be getting 8-12". Now, mind you, Wednesday it was 65*F and felt like Spring, but, hey, it's a brave new world in regards to climate changes that some people will tell you aren't happening. Anyway, with us on the border of 4-8 & 8-12 we should've been hit pretty good and to make my life easier I take a vacation day since I've got days that I need to burn or lose them.

Wednesday night I went out and got gas for the snow blower, filled it up, did a few test starts, cleaned it, and had it ready to at edge of the garage door. Thursday all I had to do was open the door and I could go straight to work. The snow shovels were found and waiting by the front door. I made sure the A/C cover was in place and even drained the sitting water that was on top of the pool cover (between the weight of the water and the snow I didn't want the cover to collapse into the pool).

My plan for Thursday was... take Mrs. Kevin to work, come home, take a nap with Fuzzy Dog, watch Independence Day: Resurgence on DVD, make a snack, head outside in the afternoon with the snow blower, watch something else, and then pick up Mrs. Kevin from work.

How my Thursday went... take Mrs. Kevin to work, come home, watch some CNN as the snow outside was really starting to come down, take a short nap with Fuzzy Dog before getting a phone call from Mrs. Kevin to come pick her up as almost no kids showed up at the daycare she works at, go outside and... where's the snow?! Not only was there not 4+" inches of snow but it was sunny enough that what snow did fall was already gone from our driveway and the walkway from the driveway to the house & backyard! The street was clear, my truck was mostly clear, and the only buildup was at the end of the driveway from the snow plow. WHAT THE HECK?!

Now I've got a snow blower with a full tank of gas that I'll need to drain, wasted a vacation day, and never got to see the movie.

Advice for any of the guys out there who are getting married or have just gotten married: After being married for many years you still need to filter your thoughts before responding to your partner!

Mrs. Kevin: Which dog was that whining?

Kevin: I think the older dog, I didn't see the puppy opening his mouth.

Mrs. Kevin: You don't need to have your mouth open to whine.

Kevin: Well, your's usually is!
Mrs. Kevin: :wifey:

Kevin: :peekandrun:

So I'm pursuing possibly buying a tiny (tiny, tiny, tiny) little business that operates at a local farmer's market. The business has been for sale for a few months now and would generate hardly any net profit but I think it might be something interesting to do. The problem? Getting... people... to respond... to my calls & emails! :banghead: The broker is not responding, the contacts for the farmers market is not responding; actually, the only person who is responding to anything is my accountant. Just... so... frustrating.

I've finally gotten info' about the both the broker and the farmer's market. I'm heading out later today to talk to the farmer's market folks before deciding to make an offer on the stand. I need to balance out the excitement of doing something new & different versus the reality of whether it's feasible that it'll ever actually turn a profit or whether it'll be a money pit. Mrs. Kevin is the more cautious of the two us; her excitement level is no where near mine. :nailbiting:

Sometimes I hold my phone to my ear in public places and talk loudly in made up languages to see other people's reactions.

I do this (minus the talking, lol) just to avoid people in vicinity talking to me.
Random thought- all my life I've heard a version of this "when you're older you'll appreciate the summer heat"
Nope. I think my tolerance has decreased.

I thought I just saw a Ufo, its late at night, and there is all kinds of vessels flying around here, it just had a strange light pattern around it, but the other aircraft didn't seem to mind.......

Well Obummer care is still in effect, 3 wonderful non-republicans voted no on a simple get rid of the ball and chain mandate that is keeping Americans bound. I wonder if they are servants to Insurance companies getting lots o' money from good hard working Americans? Today is a dark day in America, everyone should fly their flags half staff. Shame on you 3 for keeping Americans chained to O'bummer care.......Gut the mandate and set America free.....Git er' done!

Oh I know it's terrible. We've gotten some relief this week, which is a good thing because I've got a funeral service tomorrow. But last week was absolutely awful. I was at a funeral soaking wet with sweat and the preacher would not shut up. It just kept going and going and going.
