Lots of great space ships in this thread! I’ve built many of them and flown several as model rockets.
Is it ok to post your own ships?
What you see here are a couple of the ships from our book series,
Rocket Babe.
I’m not going to explain the continuing storyline except to say the ships are part of a covert U.S. space military service called,
Deep Space Strike Force. Taking place in the early to mid 1980’s DSSF retools what’s left of the Apollo era technology, as it develops its own deep space capabilities. The initial mission is to stop alien abductions.
The largest ship is the U.S.S. PANDORA; one of 3 Saturn V’s left over from cancelled moon missions converted to small battleships armed with nukes. Powered by modified F1 rocket engines, top speed is approx. 60,000 mph.
The second is a Cestris fighter, 1 of 7 approx. 1/3 the size of the Saturn V. Top speed is approximately 200k mph. Armed with four recessed 8 barrel Gatling guns mounted two forward and two aft, it also carries a wide variety of air to air and air to surface missiles, as well as nukes and anti-matter bombs. The Verna Starr Cestris fighter can operate in any atmosphere or space, and has VTOL capabilities.
What makes these ships and some of the weaponry mentioned in the series special, is that they can actually be built and flown as model rockets by using black powder engines.
The Cestris is adapted for the
Rocket Babe series from a kit produced by Sirius Rocketry.
